Week Seven as the League comes down the stretch

Bill clings to the top spot with Sleepy Weasel breathing down his neck. BigHeadZach tiptoes into a % slot joining Icaruslnx. Next week will be the last of the Alphabet Aliens. I will be away so we need a host. Then we will set up the Finals. A bunch of players can still break in. The required games is now boosted to 7. Virus took two out of three games. The VIR VUL VOI VAC combo (originally created by TheDukester and then hijacked into the ALphabet cal Aliens Category) had players clinging to their powers and staying out of alliances. Scare ships all around.

Cosmic Online Alphabetical Aliens League Week Six

Bill clings to the number one slot despite a “three mistake” loss in last night’s league. The week six combo of Sapient, Tripler, Sorcerer and Trader was classic, with the last game running for 46 minutes.

The current top six players shifted around with Subby getting bumped to the lower tier and zxzxi vaulting into second followed by Sleepy Weasel and Icaruslnx. Peter and AP are still qualified, but trailing the top four.

2004 Annual CE Champ and four time monthly winner, Barrok vowed to make his presence felt but showed some rust with a four loss night.

Alpha Aliens League Week 5 in The Record Books

And the big news is that Peter (your League Host) has broken out of the 0- 8 slump with 2 (count ‘em) wins!

Once again the Alphabetical Aliens, O Through R:  Oracle, Pacifist, Philanthropist, Reincarnator did not disappoint! The games were rollicking with eight players duking it out in five games. And speaking of Duke, he showed up late and Peter offered him a his seat in the just started final game of the night. Duke won it as Reincarnator.

If you were betting that Oracle or Philanthropist would be the best alien YOU WON. They tied with two wins each. Reincarnator took home a win with Duke behind the curtain, and Pacifist was shut out for the night! Go figure.

We feature the current top 4 with the top two most wins and the next two best percentage with at least five games.

We are computing the number of games to qualify by taking an average of all the games played by players who have plaed at least two games.

Currently you need to play 5 games to be in contention. We are showing your games played and games needed. The way the standings are bunched up even a player who plays for the first time will have a decent chance of making the top four.

Alphabetical Aliens League Week 4

The combo of M Through M proved to be very defensive with players having to fight for every colony.  Martian, Mind, Mite, Mutant games held at 0 colonies for quite some time.

Lenoxus took a win in a first League appearance.

Bill shifted back into first with a win as subby took a loss and fell to second.

zxzxi is a solid third. BigHeadZach and Icaruslnx also took a win each.

Solo WIns Only

The finals will be the top two players in wins and the top two players with the best winning % with 5 games or more. This allows players to join league at any time and still be in the running. So if you haven’t played yet come tonight!

Lag Bug  

Lets try this tonight.  I want to test if the Lobby chat function is generating the annoying lag. It seems to strike when we are all in the lobby chatting before or after coming back from a game.

When we are all in the lobby, keep chat to a minimum. I will announce the games and the winners.

If we have a big lag, assume that I will reboot the game server – which takes about 2 minutes. After the reboot come back in for more games.

Cosmic Online Alphabetical Aliens League Week Two

Week Two finally got played, featuring:

2. Empath, Filch, Ghost, Healer

Subby was a two game winer among the humans. Healer was a two game winner in alines by player. zxzxi and Mesmer69 took the other two wins.

Unfortunately LAG was back in all its glory with a game server and VPS restart necessary. Good code was captured and lobby chat is still a suspect.

Week 2 Alphabetical Aliens League Monday May 18 8 -10 pm est

Week 2. Empath, Filch, Ghost, Healer

Last week: A Through D was a very good Alphabetical Aliens Combo!

Week 1. Anti-Matter, Calculator, Clone, Dictator

Clone could keep high and low vs Anti, Calculator could foil with equalization, Dictator had to really be careful about where to send  players but could forestall victory. Calculator wound up with two wins, one by amatecon and one by Bill. Bill had the most wins with 2.

Lag fixed??? 

So far the lag has not reappeared since the adjustments to the Apache Settings on the VPS. We are hopeful.

Thc combo panel search has been fixed. You can search by player name, by alien or by combo name. For aliens you can use the 3 letter code or the full name. You cn search for combos with two aliens by entering the two three letter cods with a space, LIKE THIS: sap vir,
